LIFE’S TRADE-OFFS

Life’s full of futile trade-offs;

where you trade one for another

until your breath completely stops.

When you trade one for another,

you win some and lose some;

until you lose your body forever

and death doth call saying “come”.

The stupid choices we get to make

are the choices we get to keep;

The choices we wisely forsake

are choices that make us lose our sleep.

But we continue these trade-offs

as time runs out and the hour glass stops

we continue these trade-offs; until us it robs

THE PREACHER

A corrupt clergyman on a pulpit

Preaches about spiritual corruption

About how Judas sold out

For thirty pieces of silver and damnation.

While the congregation undeterred snore on

Blissfully asleep on their way to perdition.

The preacher continues to rant and rave on

While no one listens to his plea for salvation.

It was indeed his own plea

To save himself from the hell of his own incarceration.

While the congregation sleep on with a smile of glee

And the choristers look on without comprehension

As the organized church is sinking

gradually into corruption enroute to extinction. 

FRIENDLESS IN FAKELAND

When a person doesn’t have a single friend

No, not even one single true friend

Not even one to call a dear friend

What does make him such a friendless fiend?

Is he a monster abhorred and despised?

If so, aren’t we all rather biased?

For a man to have no friend

And stand tall yet not bend

Shows that his values are different

From the mob which is deviant

His honesty so uncompromising

Makes him friendship material unpromising

Next time you meet a guy with no friend

Be sure you have found a fine diamond

Maybe he will never be your friend

But mocking him you shouldn’t defend

I AM NEVER LONELY

Though deserted by friends and family

I never ever feel ever lost or lonely

For with my dear God by my side

I take everything in my stride

No evil can ever harm me

No devil can ever break me

And my loneliness is my armour

While God is my ultimate savior

and together we in harmony live

in peace that doth all evil defy

for I am never ever lonely

because I live with God only
