I
sat inside the coach on a hot summers’ day
looking
out through the barred window
as
the train moved into a small station
along
the winding way.
I
watched another train coming our way
from
the opposite direction;
entering
and halting at the station
on
the platform opposite
the
one on which my train was standing.
The
heat made me irritated
as
I sat watching the summer haze
making
heat waves that danced around me.
Suddenly,
I felt the train was moving
and
heaved a sigh of relief at the thought
of
the cool wind that should and would
waft
in once we were in motion
As
we departed the station.
But
there was no cool wind blowing
as
I soon realised that it was the train
on
the opposite platform that was moving
and
making it appear that our train was leaving
While
in fact, we were just a standing
Oh
what an illusion indeed!
The
moving of the train outside
that
made it appear, it seemed
that
the train I was sitting inside
was
moving as if in great speed.
It
only served as a reminder
of
another illusion of our creator.
The
illusion of ever flowing time
which
enacted out a weird mime
that
made it appear we were growing
and
permanently and rapidly ageing
while
in truth it was the other way going
it
was only time that was a flowing.
Oh
what an illusion indeed!
