I’ve done many things in life
from washing soda bottles
and surviving all the strife
to fighting corporate battles.
I’ve slept on wet street pavements
and hosted royal banquets
Tried every kinda high; from single malt
to crude hooch with many a fault;
from grass to coke and speed
and downers and uppers indeed.
I did even sing in a bar for a living
Until God was so forgiving
Have served in many sectors
rubbed shoulders with many victors
Don’t like to talk much about it
For I find it sick to trumpet it
Cause I find it all the same
The rich man and the pauper
The draper and the barber
From the millionaire, the billionaire
to many a spoilt heiress or heir
From the so called saint to the sinner
to the poet, the dancer and the painter
They are all the same; just the same
All are the same; indeed a shame
The same flesh, skin and bones
but at each other, throwing stones
All the same until they find his name
The name of he who is above any name
and at his feet forgiveness seek
as egos with humility turn meek
to see the light that does shine bright
and teaches them what is right
Until then they are all same
same as everyone in name and game
